Luis Fernández Luque

eHealth Researcher

Full name

Luis Fernández Luque

My passion health and computing and improve reality led me to a career in eHealth, both as researcher and entrepreneur. I am currently eHeath researcher at the Qatar Computing Research Institute – Qatar Foundation. Additionally, I am co-founder and advisor in the digital health start-up Salumedia.

I am interested in global problems, and that is why I have been working in multiple countries: University of Sevilla (Spain), Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain), FH-Stralsund (Germany), Norut (Norway), Harvard Medical School (USA) and the University of Minnesota (USA). Also I am the elected chairman of the Health Social Media Working Group of the International Medical Informatics Association.

I believe that knowledge has to be shared, and that is my motivation to publish in leading journals such as the BMJ, The Lancet or JMIR and give many lectures about eHealth.

Within eHealth I am very interested in patient-oriented projects, specially those dealing with mHealth, Serious Games and Social Media.
